Ingredients

For the Jalapeño Poppers
  • 12 large jalapeño peppers firm and bright
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 slices turkey bacon
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh chives optional

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Step 2: Carefully cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. If you want a little extra heat, leave some seeds in!
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Step 4: Generously fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture. Don’t be shy; pack it in there!
  5. Step 5: Cut each slice of turkey bacon in half and wrap one half around each stuffed jalapeño. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  6. Step 6: Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Step 7: Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the turkey bacon is crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Step 8: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped chives before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to get creative! Try using different cheeses or add sausage for a heartier option. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
