Ingredients

For the Savory Korean Steak Sandwich
  • 1 lb ribeye steak tender and flavorful
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce adds umami flavor
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil infuses a nutty aroma
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
To taste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup kimchi adds a tangy crunch
For the Spicy Mayo
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha to taste
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro

Equipment

  • Grill or Skillet
  • Bowl
  • Small Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Add the ribeye steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest before slicing thinly.
  3. Step 3: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Sriracha, and lime juice to create the spicy mayo.
  4. Step 4: Toast the hoagie rolls lightly, if desired. Spread a generous amount of spicy mayo on each roll.
  5. Step 5: Layer the sliced steak, kimchi, and cucumber on the rolls. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
  6. Step 6: Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers separately in the refrigerator. The steak lasts up to 3 days, and the spicy mayo can be kept for about a week.
