Method
- Step 1: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang. Mix well to create a flavorful marinade.
- Step 2: Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for even more flavor.
- Step 3: When you are ready to cook, preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Step 4: Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Once cooked, remove it from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
- Step 5: While the steak is resting, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha in a small bowl to create the spicy mayo.
- Step 6: To assemble the sandwiches, spread a layer of spicy mayo on each roll. Layer the shredded lettuce, sliced cucumber, and julienned carrots on the bottom half of each roll.
- Step 7: Add the sliced steak on top of the vegetables. Sprinkle the sandwiches with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for that extra flair.
- Step 8: Close the sandwiches with the top half of the rolls and serve immediately. Enjoy every delicious bite!
Notes
If you have leftovers, store the sliced steak and veggies in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about 3 days. When you're ready to enjoy, just reassemble the sandwiches. You can also use the steak in salads or wraps for a tasty alternative!
