Ingredients

For the Salad
  • 1 lb cooked shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 ripe avocados diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
To taste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Optional
  • Lettuce leaves for serving

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Small Bowl
  • Cutting Board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Serving Dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or spoon

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare your ingredients: Start by ensuring your shrimp is cooked, peeled, and deveined. If you’re using frozen shrimp, make sure to thaw them completely before starting. Dice the avocados, chop the red onion, and cilantro finely.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, diced avocados, finely chopped red onion, and cilantro. Gently toss them together to avoid mashing the avocado.
  3. Step 3: In a separate small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  4. Step 4: Pour the mayonnaise mixture over the shrimp and avocado mixture. Using a spatula, gently fold the dressing into the salad, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Step 5: For an elegant presentation, serve the salad on a bed of lettuce leaves or in individual bowls. Enjoy your Salade de crevettes & avocat crémeuse right away.

Notes

While this salad is best enjoyed fresh, you can prepare the ingredients ahead of time and mix them just before serving. For added flavor, consider marinating the shrimp in lime juice and spices before mixing them into the salad.
