- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) so it’s nice and hot when your potatoes are ready.
- Step 2: Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly. A mandoline works wonders here, but a sharp knife will do just fine if you’re careful.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, toss those beautiful potato slices with melted butter, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated. This is where the magic begins!
- Step 4: Arrange half of the potato slices in a circular pattern in a greased, oven-safe skillet or baking dish, overlapping them slightly for that lovely layered effect.
- Step 5: Pour half of the remaining melted butter over the first layer of potatoes, ensuring they soak up all that flavor.
- Step 6: Add the remaining potato slices in another circular layer, again overlapping them.
- Step 7: Pour the rest of the butter over the top layer of potatoes and sprinkle with additional salt and pepper.
- Step 8: Now, it’s time to bake! Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and tender.
- Step 9: Once done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This makes it easier to invert onto a serving plate.
- Step 10: Slice into wedges and serve warm. Enjoy the crispy, buttery goodness!
Notes
Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
