  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for warmth and flavor
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour the base of our brownies
  • 1 cup cocoa powder rich chocolatey goodness
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to balance the sweetness
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped crunchy and nutty
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips because more chocolate is always better
For the Pecan Pie Layer
  • 1 cup corn syrup for that gooey pecan pie layer
  • 1 cup brown sugar adds depth and moisture
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract yes, we need more of this
  • 3 large eggs for the pecan layer

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Step 2: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until it’s well combined.
  3. Step 3: Add 4 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until smooth.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Step 5: Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips, then pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Step 6: In another bowl, combine the corn syrup, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 3 eggs. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  7. Step 7: Pour the corn syrup mixture over the brownie batter in the pan, ensuring it spreads evenly.
  8. Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Step 9: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve and enjoy!
