Ingredients

For the Tabbouleh
  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh parsley The star of the show! Fresh parsley adds a bright and zesty flavor.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh mint Mint gives this salad a refreshing twist that you won't forget.
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes Juicy tomatoes provide a sweet balance to the herbs.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion Onions add a slight crunch and depth to the salad.
  • 1/2 cup bulgur wheat This nutty grain is a must-have for that classic tabbouleh texture.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Use a good quality olive oil for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed lemon juice brightens up the entire dish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Small Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Start by rinsing the bulgur wheat under cold water. Then soak it in warm water for about 30 minutes, or until tender. Once it’s ready, drain and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the chopped parsley, mint, diced tomatoes, and onion. Just looking at this colorful mix makes my heart happy!
  3. Step 3: Add the drained bulgur wheat to the bowl with the vegetables. This is where the magic begins!
  4. Step 4: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper. This dressing is simple but oh-so-delicious.
  5. Step 5: Pour the dressing over the tabbouleh mixture and toss everything together gently to combine. Make sure every bit of herb and grain is coated!
  6. Step 6: Adjust the seasoning as necessary, and serve chilled or at room temperature. Trust me, it tastes even better after a little time in the fridge!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should keep well for about 3 days, but I bet it won’t last that long! The flavors get even better as it sits, so don’t hesitate to make it ahead of time.
