Ingredients

Crêpe Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour The foundation of your crêpes.
  • 2 large eggs These add richness and help bind the batter.
  • 1.5 cups milk For that lovely, creamy texture.
  • 2 tbsp melted butter Adds flavor and makes cooking easier.
  • 1 tbsp sugar optional: Sweeten them up if you're going for a dessert vibe!
  • 0.5 tsp salt A pinch to enhance the flavors.
For Cooking
  • Butter or oil

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Non-stick Skillet
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar (if using), and salt. Whisk until the batter is smooth and well combined. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes—this is key to getting those tender crêpes.
  2. Step 2: Heat a non-stick skillet or crêpe pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Don't skip this step, or your crêpes might stick!
  3. Step 3: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan, tilting it to spread the batter evenly into a thin layer.
  4. Step 4: Cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until the edges begin to lift and the bottom is lightly golden. Flip the crêpe and cook for an additional 1 minute on the other side.
  5. Step 5: Repeat with the remaining batter, stacking the crêpes on a plate as you go. Cover them with a clean kitchen towel to keep them warm and soft.
  6. Step 6: Serve warm with your choice of fillings or toppings. Try fresh fruits, whipped cream, or even savory options like ham and cheese!

Notes

Crêpes are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, layer crêpes with parchment paper in between to prevent sticking. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm them in a skillet or microwave.
