Ingredients

For the Tart
  • 3 large banana peppers sliced
  • 1 cup goat cheese softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream ensures a rich and luxurious filling.
  • 3 large eggs binds everything together beautifully.
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Tart Pan
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: Place the pre-made tart crust in a tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove it from the oven and set aside.
  3. Step 3: In a skillet over medium heat, drizzle some olive oil and sauté the sliced banana peppers until they soften, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: In a mixing bowl, combine the goat cheese, heavy cream, eggs, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Step 5: Spread the sautéed banana peppers evenly over the baked tart crust.
  6. Step 6: Pour the goat cheese mixture over the peppers, making sure it is evenly distributed.
  7. Step 7: Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden on top.
  8. Step 8: Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your creation!

Notes

Store any uneaten tart in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to regain its deliciousness before serving.
